// Rhomberg Rail Australia Prominent at AusRail 2015

The company's new exhibition stand and prime location extremely well received

AusRail is the premier rail trade show in the Southern Hemisphere and the 2015 Exhibition and Conference held in Melbourne from November 24 to 26 was no exception. With over 6500 people directly involved as exhibitors, visiting or presenting it is a key event to make contact with our existing and potential customers, and partner suppliers.

Rhomberg Rail Australia took a prominent display position directly opposite the main refreshments area. A new stand was commissioned after a competitive tender process and the fresh new look was extremely well received. We have displayed at AusRail events for over 10 years and it is gratifying to see how we have established a positon as a key supplier in our industry. Clients from all across the country took the time to stop by and discuss our performance to date and the opportunities they see for us going forward. The Australian rail market contracted sharply in the previous 24 months as the mining boom has come to an end. Fortunately that has resulted in client railways looking for better value direct suppliers like Rhomberg Rail Australia and our business has been performing strongly in this new ‘maintenance’ environment.

Of note was the visit to AusRail by Martin Kowalski the Head of Track System Technology, Rhomberg Rail Consult GmbH. Martin worked with our Henrik Vocks and presented a paper entitled “IVES – A Combined Bottom-Up / Top-Down Track Slab Approach as an Alternative to Ballasted Track”. The paper and IVES concept were well received by customers with several key queries that have potential to develop IVES further in the Australian market.

Garry Thuer returned to Australia for the show and spent much time in meetings with clients and management. Garry commented, “It’s great to see such a tremendous response to our company in Australia. I found myself at one point talking to the key executives of three of Australia’s largest rail networks. And all had good things to say about the performance of our local business”.
Next year AusRail will be held in Adelaide and we look forward to a similar positive outcome. Thanks to all those involved in making this our best AusRail ever!
