Garry Thuer, Managing Director
Garry is the Managing Director and the driving force behind the long term sustainable business strategy of Rhomberg Rail Australia.
Beginning his career 14 years ago on completion of a Masters in Business Management, Garry has developed and implemented corporate strategies in a variety of different industries in Australia and Europe.
Garry joined Rhomberg and the construction industry 7 years ago, reporting directly to Hubert Rhomberg, the fourth generation company owner .
After just a few years under Garry’s leadership, Rhomberg Rail Australia has rapidly expanded through organic growth to become a leading railway construction company in NSW.

Hubert Rhomberg, Board Member, Non-Executive Director
Hubert is the Managing Director of Rhomberg Group and fourth generation business owner. Hubert joined the family company as Engineering Manager for civil and rail projects in 1999 after completing his Masters in Civil Engineering and gaining experience in other construction companies. He developed Rhomberg’s leading position in track slab construction of high-speed rail lines and delivered several major rail systems projects.
A career hi-light has been the contract award, design, construction and commissioning of the Loetschberg Base Tunnel, Europe’s largest transalpine rail tunnel which has elevated the Rhomberg Group into the top echelons of world rail leaders.

Oswald Ortner, Board Member, Non-Executive Director
Oswald has more than 30 years experience in Railway Construction. Oswald has undertaken management roles across the rail spectrum, both with a network owner and a contractor providing rail track maintenance and large scale multi-discipline rail infrastructure projects in Europe. As a result he has a unique perspective of the delivery needs of a modern railway.
Oswald is a specialist in mechanised track construction and maintenance and is responsible for the strategic resourcing and technical development of the high performance railway construction and maintenance plant for the Rhomberg Group.

Richard Morgan, Manager Projects
Richard brings more than 25 years experience of railway construction and maintenance to his role of Manager Projects. He has successfully planned and delivered award winning large and medium sized multi-discipline rail infrastructure projects and led multiple project teams. His thorough engineering and delivery knowledge includes all aspects around the rail such as track, signalling, overhead wiring, power supply, civil and structures from design, construction to commissioning and maintenance.
Richard is responsible for the preparation and the successful delivery of Rhomberg Rail Australia’s rail projects as well as for the leadership and development of our project engineers and delivery managers.

Shane Whitehouse, Manager Resources
Shane joined Rhomberg Rail Australia in April 2008 with a proven track record over 20 years of railway industry experience. Before commencing with Rhomberg Rail Australia, Shane managed the planning and delivery of over 350km of totally reconstructed rail track in the Sydney Metropolitan area. In particular he planned, resourced and programmed the works from design /survey to construction stages, managed delivery team staff and field staff involved in projects.
His liaison with clients and close working relationship with delivery staff ,enables him to actively manage all resourcing aspects of Rhomberg Rail Australia to ensure successful project delivery and company growth.

Michael Match, Manager Business Development
Exceeding the clients expectations begins with the understanding of their detailed needs and continues with the successful translation into an engineering terminology and the preparation of the organisation to deliver. Michael brings a wealth of varied experience in the construction industry in Australia and overseas to his role of Manager Business Development.
During a 30 year career, Michael has held a number of senior positions in delivery oriented and customer focused companies including operational responsibility for supply chain processes.
Key responsibilities with Rhomberg Rail Australia include the management of the customer relationship throughout the project life cycle and strategy formation with a focus on business improvement and growth across the organisation.
